Vaping in Public Places

On October 11, 2016, the Whatcom County Council passed the Smoking & Vaping in Public Places Ordinance.  This new ordinance prohibits the use of tobacco and vapor products in indoor public places, as well as within 25 feet of doorways and air intakes.  To find out more information, you can click on the Ordinance, the resulting County Code, or the Vaping in Public Places notice shown below.
To assist with signage requirements, the department has created signs that can be affixed to door entrances or at a visible location near the entrance, as well as appropriate interior spaces.  You can download and print any of the following signs, or pick up pre-printed materials at 509 Girard St. in Bellingham.
Thank you for helping spread the word about this new ordinance!
