Whatcom County Planning Commission Meeting July 8th
The Whatcom County Planning Commission will host a virtual public hearing, on July 8, 2021, at 6:30 p.m., regarding three actionable items:
- PLN2021-00001 - Proposed amendments to Whatcom County Title 20 (Zoning) to allow Battery Energy Storage Systems in several zoning designations. For more information contact Robby Eckroth at 360-778-5938 or reckroth@co.whatcom.wa.us.
- PLN2020-00004 - Proposed amendment to Comprehensive Plan Map and Whatcom County Title 20 (Zoning) code for the Nooksack Falls Exclave within the Mount Baker Snoqualmie National Forest. The map amendment will amend the Mineral Resource Lands Comprehensive Plan Designation to Rural Forestry, to match the zoning district. The zoning code amendment will include the Nooksack Falls Exclave as an area where a Conditional Use Permit application may be submitted for facilities intended to provide education related to forestry, natural resources and wildlife, and the purpose of the Rural Forestry zone. The proposal affects approximately 66 acres of privately held lands on/near Wells Creek Road, off of State Route 542 - Mt Baker Hwy. - PLN2019-00005 - Proposed amendments to Whatcom County Title 20 (Zoning) to modify the Density Credits Chapter, modify the Urban Residential 4 dwellings/acre (UR4) zone in the Birch Bay UGA to allow increased density if density credits are purchased, modify the minimum lot size, width, depth and other requirements in the Urban Residential zone, and modify the accessory dwelling unit regulations to allow larger unit size if density credits are purchased.
