All adults need a dose of the Td or Tdap vaccine and a yearly flu shot. Depending on your age, health conditions, job, and lifestyle you might need other vaccines too.
- Getting a flu shot every year helps keep you from getting sick. Get the shot from your health care provider or pharmacy.
- Check the recommended adult immunization schedule for details on the shots you need.
- Answer a few questions in the Center for Disease Control's (CDC) Adult Vaccine Assessment Tool to get a list of vaccines you should have based on your job, age, or other factors.
For childcare workers and volunteers: As of July 2019 all employees and volunteers at child care centers in Washington must provide immunization records showing they have received the MMR vaccine or have proof of immunity. Learn more about this law from the Washington State Department of Health, or find out how to access the MMR vaccine for free if you work or volunteer in a child care setting.
